What is the Lazarus Program and how do Massachusetts Lions Clubs support the organ donor program?

The Lazarus Program is one of the Massachusetts Lions sponsored programs. The purpose of the program is to promote the need for organ donation.

Each year, the Lions of Massachusetts raise funds for the sole purpose of providing organ donor information to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles by providing organ donor cards.  In addition, during 2003-2004 The Lazarus Fund board of directors in conjunction with other agencies created a video highlighting organ donation and provided that video to all Drivers Education Training schools in Massachusetts.  Each year we continue to try to search out new and innovative ways to increase the publics awareness of the need of organ donations.
